Wednesday Vignette

For my Wednesday Vignette this week, I'm sharing a photo from my trip to Brookings, of an Acacia pravissima. The pattern of foliage and flower buds reminds me of a complex fractal pattern, like one of those old screen savers that builds a pattern, layering it deeper and deeper. I was mesmerized for longer than I'm willing to admit.

And just because, here's a picture of the whole tree. I think it was around 12-15 feet tall, maybe 20 feet wide.

Wednesday Vignette is hosted by Anna at Flutter&Hum. Be sure to follow the link for more vignettes from Anna and other bloggers.

  1. Yet another reason to mourn the loss of mine. It did well for several years, then up and died.

    1. Those mild stretches are so mean, tempting us to grow things that won't survive long-term.

  2. Those are so lovely - I can totally see getting tangled into its mysteries! Just might have to pay a visit to Brookings some time - it looks amazing!

  3. That's one great Acacia! Like others, I grow and enjoy it until a cold winter takes it out.
