Wednesday Vignette

The series of vignettes for this Wednesday plays on the idea I used last week, but instead of taking multiple images of progressively wider shots, I took one photo, zoomed in, and cropped multiple views from it. This is something I do more often than the series I shared last week. The brilliantly backlit Mimulus cardinalis gave me plenty to play with. Wednesday Vignette is hosted by Anna of Flutter & Hum to share inspiring scenes. What inspired you this week?

  1. This is what my mimulus aspires to be when she grows up. Long way to go.

    1. It won't take long. They grow fast when they're happy.

  2. Beautiful backlit Mimulus! Beautiful plant that I don't yet have, but it's been on my wishlist for a while now. I like your progression shots!

  3. A veritable riot of cute sunny orange and yellow flowers, they seem to make 100 degrees of fiery color.

    1. I considered titling this series: Monkeys on Fire. It makes me laugh, but I thought others might not get it.

  5. Beautiful! I had Mimulus here, the hummers love it, but I pulled it out, I can't remember why. I need to plant it again. The light in your progressively closer photos is spectacular.

    1. Maybe it reseeded too much? It can be a bit of a brutish weed in the right conditions. If you want to try it again I have enough to spare.

    2. Oh, if you remember, and you make it to the fall plant swap, I would love a start of your Mimulus!
