It's such a great way to save money. I think the geraniums benefited most from strong light to germinate. Of course I don't mind sharing my source: Silverhill Seeds, located in South Africa, but they ship to the U.S. They have tons of cool seeds to choose from. http://www.silverhillseeds.co.za/Evan Beanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06732413653862912387noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3725795560485860373.post-68837872770945646402014-05-26T16:17:38.547-07:002014-05-26T16:17:38.547-07:00I don't generally care for self-seeding plants...I don't generally care for self-seeding plants either. They scare me from an ecological standpoint and are just more weeds for me to pull. I do have a handful of plants that give me one or two seedlings per year. I hope my Cerinthe do self-seed though.Evan Beanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06732413653862912387noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3725795560485860373.post-13187561850239551812014-05-26T16:15:04.638-07:002014-05-26T16:15:04.638-07:00I was about to give up on some of these things. I've grown a couple trees and shrubs from seed in the past, but mostly just as a "throw it in the pot and see what happens" kind of experiment.Evan Beanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06732413653862912387noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3725795560485860373.post-63108644090172616312014-05-25T18:21:50.014-07:002014-05-25T18:21:50.014-07:00Seed-starting is really a valuable tool for anyone...Seed-starting is really a valuable tool for anyone with a large property. Unfortunately, my efforts this year met with miserable failure. Admittedly, I have been pretty cavalier about the process. Maybe it's time to take the whole thing more seriously.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08843132106213356234noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3725795560485860373.post-8812802093058854432014-05-23T10:11:31.893-07:002014-05-23T10:11:31.893-07:00How long ago did you sow the geranium seed? Although I'm not a fan of self seeding plants, I love Cerinthe; their bluish shades are amazing and they have a long season of interest. Even if many don't survive a cold snap, there is always one that makes it through to carry on the self seeding.chavlinesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10907844942343152129noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3725795560485860373.post-64715468129807808382014-05-23T08:30:00.130-07:002014-05-23T08:30:00.130-07:00Such success!
